The Other Cafe’s Comedy Showcase was an eight-episode series produced for the Oak Media Pay TV service. Each episode featured two comedians, along with host Bobby Slayton. The comedians included Dana Carvey, Kevin Nealon, Kevin Pollack, Ellen DeGeneres, Carol Leifer, Will Durst, A. Whitney Brown and Bob Sarlotte, among others.

Lon McQuillin directed, edited and co-produced the series. Bob Ayres and Chip Romer of the legendary Other Cafe in San Francisco were the producers. The series was shot live-switched with isolated backups at the former Wolfgang’s in San Francisco. Assistant Editor Mary Holland also made strong contributions.

The title sequence available here was created in a traditional linear editing suite, using the Ampex ADO for digital effects. It has been compressed with the Sorenson Video Compressor.
