The most wonderful thing that’s ever happened in my life was the birth of my daughter, Deirdre Corinne McQuillin on September 27, 1995. Though her mother and I are now divorced, we share custody, and Deirdre’s a big and wonderful part of my life. She’s smart, funny, beautiful and fearless. She’s everything a father could possibly hope for in a daughter.

In August of 2008, Deirdre entered 8th grade, at a year-round school, after spending her summer vacation on the East coast with her mother and aunts, uncles and cousins.
