(The heading above was created with Mac Video Titler 2)

Mac Video Titler 2 provides an incredibly fast and easy tool for creating high-quality titles and credits for your video productions. It creates either QuickTime™ movie rolls, crawls or page flashes or single-page PICT files. For users of Final Cut Pro, Avid, Media 100 or other Mac-based nonlinear editings systems, Mac Video Titler 2 is the fastest, easiest tool available for creating titles.

Mac Video Titler 2 creates anti-aliased titles over a solid background color, or over a background PICT image or QuickTime movie.

Options include creating an alpha channel with full or shadow-only variable transparency.

MVT2's features include:

Creating Titles with Mac Video Titler vs. with Photoshop

Creating a simple title in Photoshop – for instance an alpha channel lower-third name super with transparent drop shadow – entails typing the text, copying it to the clipboard, creating one or more alpha channel layers, setting transparency levels, pasting and positioning layers, merging the alpha layers, and... well, it’s a fair number of steps to get there from here. If you’d like the letters to sport a gradient, the top layer of each line must be selected separately and the gradient tool applied manually.

Creating a simple title to the same specs in Mac Video Titler is simplicity itself by contrast: Set your preferences for drop shadow depth and transparency, and then simply position the cursor, type your text, and select the Render menu item. Want gradients? Set your starting and ending colors, and MVT will automatically create text with a gradient – either a single line or on every line of a complete credit roll.

Credit Rolls to Go

Creating a credit roll – even with such options as gradients and alpha channel semi-transparent drop shadows – couldn’t be easier. Simply type (or import) your text, set your preferences, and select the Render item from the File menu. MVT2 will create a title file ready to import into FCP, Avid or Media 100 systems.

Ready for Prime Time

MVT2 has been used on numerous productions, including the end credits roll for the documentary “People Say I’m Crazy,” which aired on Cinemax in 2004.

System Requirements

Mac Video Titler 2 requires a Macintosh with at least 12 MB available application RAM, System 7 - 9 or OS X Classic (through version 10.4.11 [Tiger]), plus QuickTime 4 or later.

OSX/Classic Note: Please note that with a registered copy of Mac Video Titler 2, you must first start up Classic mode before launching Mac Video Titler 2. If you launch Mac Video Titler 2 first, and let it invoke Classic mode, it will not be able to find its preferences file, and will reset to demo mode at each new run.
