A reasonable response to the request to
“Straighten up your toys.”

As always, the box ends up as the main attraction.

Major box embellishment.

The Swimming Pool

A few years ago I got us a little 8-foot kiddie pool, and we both loved it. The next year I wanted to to get something a bit bigger. The newer pool was 12’ around and 3’ deep, and included a filter pump. With a solar blanket for heating, it was something Deirdre could actually swim in. I would lie on my float and she would dive under me to collect her pool rings. Being the mermaid she is, she loved it.

Le Pool

Le Pool avec filter.

Le pool avec fille.

What’s up with the French?

OK, I know that “swimming pool” is actually “la piscine,” but it was Renault who named it “LeCar,” and I just liked the sound of it better.

First Day of Kindergarten

Deirdre’s school started - rather inexplicably - on August 30th. There were 20 kids in her class altogether. Her teachers were Mrs. Hoff and Mrs. Razak, who job-shared the position.

With Dad.

With Mom.

In line to enter class.

Off they go.
