One Pass Video was a pioneering video production and post facility in San Francisco. I worked very closely with One Pass from the late 1970s through the mid ‘80s, both as a client and as a sometimes virtually full-time freelance editor. Sadly, after having gone through several changes of ownership, a large part of their China Basin facility was destroyed in a fire, and the remaining assets were sold off by the last owner, signalling the demise of One Pass.

I had nothing whatsoever to do with their effects demo intro, but I did have permission to show the full piece around the country on the lecture circuit. I have no idea whether anyone still has ownership rights to the clip, and if anyone should object, I’ll remove it immediately. Also, if anyone can provide credits for the clip, please let me know.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. It’s a wonderful piece of work.
